Becoming More

Bayli Lane

   New Adult Romance

At first it was all freedom, fun, and games for Lilly Fairfield. Being a freshman in college was supposed to create some of the best memories of her life, especially with her best friend, Lauren, and longtime boyfriend, Sander, by her side.

But the excitement begins to slip away when the people closest to her start to change. They begin moving in a direction Lilly doesn’t want to go, forcing Lilly to be faced with a decision. Should she fight for her relationships with both Sander and Lauren or move on to something different? Something unknown. Someone like…

Colton Davenport. Colton isn’t Lilly’s typical type. He's shockingly sexy with his colorful tattoos, shiny silver lip ring, and ear gauges. His smile alone leaves her breathless. Then again, she hasn’t had a specific type other than Sander. When she meets Colton she feels an automatic attraction that stuns her into utter stillness. She can’t look away, doesn’t want to look away.

Lilly must decide between a life with Sander, a life she always thought she wanted, and an unknown path with Colton.

Will Lilly make the right choices for her future, Becoming More?

**This book is a New Adult Romance - intended for a mature audience.**

This book was amazing! Becoming More is a very good debut, coming of age novel. I really liked the storyline and it definitely kept me interested to where I didn't want to put my Kindle down. It was very well written. Lots of drama and detail made the story flow very well. It never felt rushed for me. I loved how we were able to see Lilly grow into an adult; learning the ways of the ‘adult world’ and the choices we must make transitioning into an adult.
I could see a lot of myself in Lilly. Being so naïve and holding on so strong to ‘love will fix everything’, yup, I’ve been there before! There were so many times I wanted to reach in and shake some sense into Lilly, it drove me crazy. I hated having to watch her go through everything she did. I wanted to fix everything and protect her so badly lol. By the end of the story, she made me very proud. She matured very nicely.
Colton. Oh, Colton. I loved him oh so much! Bad boy persona, tattoos, lead singer of a band, such a huge heart!!! I fell for Colton pretty hard and fast. J I was Team Colton as soon as Lilly laid eyes on him. The more and more his sweetness came out, I was screaming for Lilly to open her eyes and look at what she had right in front of her.
I had a bad gut feeling about Lauren right from the beginning. I know her type all too well. I had her figured out pretty fast. Sander? Pshhh! He was a bit harder for me to figure out. I had hope for him in the beginning, before we met Colton that is. Lauren and Sander are meant for each other lol!

Bayli Lane didn’t realize how much she loved creating a world from nothing until college. She went to Marian University where she majored in Communications but in her spare time wrote and read. Her love for reading is what really brought out her desire to create her own novel. After starting loads of stories and not finishing them, she finally decided it was time to put her passion to work. Becoming More is her first novel but certainly not her last. Bayli lives with her husband, Tim, in Indiana where she is probably sitting with a large cup of coffee and her computer working on her next book.

About the Authors:

Riley Mackenzie~Authors
Yep. That's an “s.” There are two of us!
We’re East coast girls separated by Long Island Sound who met in Physician Assistant School and have been besties ever since. We can safely say that thirteen miles of water does not get in the way because we talk or text, no exaggeration, at least 150 times a day. No, really, we do—about everything and nothing. Shockingly, we never (we mean never) run out of things to say. Umm, ever. We definitely laugh A LOT and we’re a tad sarcastic. And if we’re being totally honest, one or two people might have, on occasion, used our names and ‘dramatic’ in the same sentence. But it’s hard to trust the sources since they married us.
It only took twelve years, two husbands, five kids, two dogs, and a two-week vacation in Cape Cod later to decide the romance world needed a splash of medicine. Write what you know.
So you can easily find us at 4 o'clock on Bank Street beach with a glass of cold Prosecco brainstorming. And guaranteed if we bump into you, literally, it’s only because our iPhones are glued to our hands (totally out of our control) either writing or editing our next novel (and yes, it is possible to do from your iPhone, we mastered it … damn those straight quotations).
When we are not working on our book or reading the latest angsty romance on our kindles, you basically name it and we have it going on. Soccer, lacrosse, golf, swimming, dance, gymnastics, football, chess, baseball, basketball, skiing, ice skating, school, homework, and more school.
Oh yeah, did we forget to mention our careers in medicine?
Needless to say, we realized fast that something had to go, so we opted for sleep. It’s completely overrated (yet so AMAZING) and delirium makes everything funnier. Good thing we share a brain and can pretty much complete each other’s sentences (definitely weird, we know), otherwise it might have taken us two years to write Beautifully Awake rather than one.
So that’s our story, who we are … just add AUTHORS to the list!

She finds herself alone with a baby, abandoned by her husband without any answers.

When their daughter, Emma is 5 months old Brad simply doesn't come home. Leaving Kylie with a mountain of debt she is forced to look for a job, but as a high school drop-out her choices are limited.
A year later still working at a job that makes her feel dirty every night Kylie feels a connection with a stranger. A businessman that for some reason she can't take her eyes off of. Running into him again the next day at her waitressing job, he tries to ask her out, but she knows she doesn't belong in his perfect world.
The problem is Evan can't seem to get the sexy stripper out of his mind. He looks at her and knows she doesn't belong there. Something about her makes him feel alive. Kylie makes him want things that he felt he would never have. If only that stubborn woman would just let him take her out just once. He knew he could make her want the same things…he’s sure of it.
Their paths continue to cross at every turn when he is finally able to persuade her to take a chance on him.

After finally agreeing to a date they both can feel the undeniable attraction, but when her past comes knocking and his trust issues leave him running, it could ruin them before they are ever really given a chance.
Can they overcome her past and his controlling parents? Can the life Evan so desperately wants survive the train wreck of their past when they continue to drive them apart?

Stripped is an amazing book. It truly portrays how hard it can be for a single mother at times. Kylie may hate what she had to do, but she did it to take care of her child. I loved witnessing how strong Kylie was, yet so vulnerable. She has been through hell and back yet still manages to remain kind and nurturing.

When Evan enters her world, you can immediately tell its going to be flipped upside down and back up again. Evan is an amazing character…ladies get ready to swoon. He takes on things that some men wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole. He dealt with her past and his also. He wouldn’t let anyone disrespect her, no matter who they were to him. That is something all of us women can hope our men will do for us.

There are a few characters that even though you want to hate, you eventually start rooting for them to succeed also. Brad is definitely one of those characters. I despised him, loved him, despised him some more but all in all I secretly wanted him to do better. Then there are the characters that all good books have…the ones you love to hate. And yes this one definitely has one of those; Evil, manipulative and oh such a witch (for all of those who don’t mind switch that w out for a b)!

I fell absolutely in love with this book over and over again while reading it. I completely recommend it as a great read and personally will probably read it again. I don’t know if there will be, but I can hope that there will be another one after this! I absolutely adored this book.
