Jon pushed open the first set of doors and stopped in the enclosed space that separated the outside from in. He slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer. “Am I to take that as an invitation to give you pleasure?”

 

Patti’s chest heaved with her shortened breaths. She became increasingly aware of how close they were, of the heat emanating from everywhere their bodies touched. “You can give me anything you want,” she whispered.

Looking out across the rain-soaked parking lot, Jon considered this. A wicked smile crossed his face. “Wanna make a run for it?”

After seeing all of the teasers for this book, I was so excited to finally read it. I was instantly sucked in and invested. Nickie has a special way of writing a story and bringing it to life. I felt so many emotions with this book. I was either laughing or crying or sitting on the edge of my seat from the suspense. It was such an amazing read!

 I loved all of the drama in the story. Who wants a boring love story? I want to see the characters work for it, put some blood and tears into it. Poor Riley and Dustin have already had it bad in the past, but it was good to see them not give up and actually work hard for what they felt.

I was an instant fan of Dustin’s from the beginning. The body and the tats?!?! Oh yeah! Ok, so his personality was a big part of it too lol. He is the sweetest guy ever! He is definitely one of my favorite book boyfriends of all time.

I couldn’t get enough of her. She had easily become my addiction.

*Insert dreamy eyed look and sigh* Yeah, Dustin is amazing.

Stained is an amazing story by the very talented Elizabeth Marx. This is the first story I have read of hers. I will be forever a fan of hers now. The way she writes is so beautiful and elegant. The flow of the story is amazing; it really brings you into the story and not only read the story, but live and feel it. This story was filled with so many emotions, have some tissues handy while reading.  I love how deep the writing is in this story. There wasn’t one ounce of ‘fluff’ in this story. I loved it!

I scoffed and tried to step back, but he moved forward, closing the space. Placing my hands on my hips, I said, “Yeah, I bet. Someone like you probably has a different woman every night. I’m pretty sure you don’t even remember my name.” What’s bad is that I remembered his. I didn’t want to remember it, but I did; it was Brett Walker and he was twenty-eight years old, just like me.

 

Smirking, he narrowed his eyes. “I could say the same for you. You were the one who left me, remember? Imagine my surprise when I woke up and your side of the bed was cold. You didn’t even say good-bye … Melissa. I must say it was a first for me.”

L.P. Dover lives in the beautiful state of North Carolina with her husband and two wonderful daughters. She's an avid reader that loves her collection of books. Writing has always been her passion and she's delighted to share it with the world. L.P. Dover spent several years in college starting out with a major in Psychology and then switching to dental. She worked in the dental field for eight years and then decided to stay home with her two beautiful girls.
